The first piece of copper jewelry I made was when I was learning how to form a copper cuff and handling a hammer. I learned there is a rhythm when striking the metal. Hammering came natural for me so I decided to add this texture to my jewelry. I owe all my techniques to my wonderful husband the jeweler and mentor.
I’ve always been a texture gal and get so excited when I observe beauty in nature. I think about ways of reproducing these textures, sometimes spending hours in my studio. My husband and mentor have helped me with the transformation process. I use lots of different tools to grind the metal for different textures and patterns and then I sometimes oxidize or patina each piece. Enjoy!

Taking care of your jewelry: This piece of brass jewelry is high polished and is sealed but not the hammered disc. It will naturally patina over time which gives it a duller sheen with an amazing coloring. If you want more of the high polished look we recommend our polishing cloth in Accessories
