“Mr. Hoffman’s art has become internationally recognizable for its simplistic ability to capture the moment in life that is a precious reflection of our lives, but many times passes without notice.”
Welcome to the world as seen through my eyes. As an artist I have explored and created in many different medias during my journey.
Photography has afforded me the chance to clearly represent my thoughts and feelings about the intricacies of life and the small details that act as a mirror for all humanity to view our surroundings and us as they really are.
The horror and the beauty of this earth causes a transition between covering both sides of the border as photojournalist and fine art photography. All my images are an actual experience, such as the images of horses, which are mostly taken from horseback or of digital art complied by layers of feelings.
Why black and white? Because I like it! Because life is not b&w so it gives us unique view and a different perspective while stripping away the immediate judgment we are conditioned to make. When you take the color out the photograph it must stand on its own. There are many applications where color is essential and of course it’s a choice of media for both the artists and the collector.
My prints are actual photographic Giclee (Pronounced "gee-clay" a French word meaning "the spraying of ink). Not to be confused with inkjet printing, this method uses the highest quality archival inks in special digital processes with a UV protection that has a life stabilization expectancy of 200 years. Printed on museum quality paper, each print is then individually signed. I still recommend framing with UV protective glass such as conservation glass or museum glass with an acid free mat and like all collector quality fine art, please keep out of prolonged direct sun light.
